Road Safety Assessment in Olneyville Square
On April 2nd and 3rd 2015, a Pedestrian and Bicycle Roadway Safety Assessment (RSA) was performed by engineering firm VHB in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team comprised of safety, traffic, and highway engineers, local enforcement, and local community organizations. Another casualty of unsafe streets in Rhode Island: Charlie Hawkins of North Providence
We have been lucky in Rhode Island recently to have avoided deadly collisions involving bicyclists. That streak has now, tragically, ended. Road safety legislative update
The nominal deadline for introducing bills in the RI Gerrtal Assembly has passed and here are some observations; Bills to up penalties when a motorist not taking “due care” kills or injures a bicyclist, pedestrian, or other “vulnerable road user have been filed,” namely H5656, S246 thanks to sponsors Rep.
