The folks over at the Sightline Institute published a recent graph comparing the pounds of CO2 (or equivalents) per passenger-mile emitted during different modes of transportation:
Clearly we are somewhat biased towards bicycles around here, but this graph certainly shows how green human transportation can be when compared with motorized transportation.
