I’d actually heard about the plans personally, but VeloNews is now reporting that
The show is scheduled for October 8-11 at Roger Williams Park in Providence, Rhode Island. The first two days are for the cycling industry only, but Saturday and Sunday will be open to the public.
Dealers and manufacturers “are just two of the three pieces of the entire cycling community mix,” said Andy Tompkins, Interbike show director. “Opening the last two days of OutDoor Demo East for consumer participation is a great way to incorporate that final piece.”
OutDoor Demo East will also include the Providence Cyclo-Cross Festival, a USA Cycling-sanctioned event produced by GSD Event Productions LLC.
This is a huge deal for the industry, the public, and Rhode Island. It will be the first time in the history of the event that Interbike will be offering a consumer portion of the show. The PBC is already in contact with the organizers and will be doing everything we can to make this a successful event.
