Get Ready to Act

February 14, 2011 by RI BIke

Source: http://www.myparkingsign.com/img/md/k/no-bicycle-symbol-sign-k-5325.gif I’m hearing from many different sources that this week may well be a pivitol week for bicycle and pedestrian funding.  Advocates in Washington D.C. feel that Congress may well be voting on federal budget cuts which could target biking and walking funds.

If such a vote comes up, the various organizations are asking that each and every one of us reach out to our representatives and let them know that bikes are important and now is NOT the time to cut what little funding they currently enjoy.  One thing is clear, time will be short if they send out an announcement asking for help.  Please keep an eye on your email and act quickly if the request comes.
