Vision Workshop Survey: Help Shape the Future of Transportation in RI

February 6, 2018 by RI BIke

Did you miss the Vision Workshops in January? The teams behind the Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and Bike Mobility Plan (BMP) still want your feedback. An online survey is now available that serves as a digital version of the Vision Workshops.  Your feedback is  needed to help craft the vision and goals of the LRTP and BMP, including how future projects are prioritized for funding and construction.

Taking the survey is easy and only requires 10 minutes of your time. We’ve created a handy guide below for taking the survey:

  1. Go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MovingForwardVision2040
  2. Click “OK” to start the survey
  3. After you’ve answered each question, click the “OK” button to move to the next question
  4. When you complete the survey, don’t forget to visit the Interactive Bike Map to identify gaps in our network. If you need guidance adding to the bike map, Bike Newport has put together a guide on how to add your own feedback to the map.

If you have trouble completing the survey or would like to submit additional feedback, you can use the feedback form on the planri.com website here or email planri2040@gmail.com.

About the Bike Mobility Plan

“The Bicycle Mobility Plan (BMP) will take a more detailed look at the specific conditions, needs, and gaps surrounding bicycle infrastructure and operations in the State of Rhode Island and identify strategies and projects that could help close gaps, improve bicycling in the State, and achieve the 20 year vision set out by the Long-Range Transportation Plan.” Visit http://planri.com/about.asp#ri-bmp to learn more.

About the Long-Range Transportation Plan

“The purpose of the Long-Range Transportation Plan is to develop a vision for transportation in the state over a 20 year planning horizon. This vision is comprehensive, covering all transportation modes (e.g. automobiles, public transit trains and buses, ferries, air travel) and sectors (e.g. commuter travel, freight). Long-Range Transportation Plans are informed by a variety of resources including federal and state transportation and land use policy, transportation data sets, funding availability and projections, and public and stakeholder outreach.” Visit http://planri.com/about.asp#ri-lrtp to learn more
