ADVOCACY ALERT: Mt. Pleasant meeting this week

January 12, 2020 by Kathleen

Do you live in Providence’s Ward 5? If so, we urge you to attend this week’s meeting hosted by Councilperson JoAnn Ryan to discuss traffic calming and the proposed bike lane along Mt. Pleasant Avenue.

Mt. Pleasant Avenue meeting

  • Wednesday, January 15, 2020
  • 6:30 PM  7:30 PM
  • Mt. Pleasant High School,  434 Mt. Pleasent Avenue.

This is the same ward where a minority of residents forced the city to remove a bike lane on Eaton Street before most residents even had a chance to try it and where a pedestrian was struck and killed in 2015.

The new changes are sponsored jointly by the city and RIDOT. Because of the state’s involvement, it is important that you also contact your State Senator, Sam Bell as well as your state representative with your thoughts on the matter.

Make your voice heard.
