Thank you Thank you Thank you

August 16, 2019 by Kathleen

Thank you to everyone who attended either of the two public hearings held by the Transportation Advisory Committee. Listening to those who chose to speak was truly inspiring. The TAC heard from a wide range of voices, experiences, perspectives and we couldn’t be more excited.

Although the public hearings are over, you can still lend your voice to the fight to maintain Transportation Alternatives funding. We have until 3:30 on August 22 to submit public comment and if we keep the pressure up, there is still a chance to defeat Major Amendment #19.

1) Contact the Governor
Let Governor Raimondo you oppose gutting the Transportation Alternatives Program at the following:

http://www.governor.ri.gov/contact/

Also, call the Governor’s office:

(401) 222-2080

“My name is ________ from _________ and I’m calling to request the Governor oppose RIDOT’s Major Amendment #19.”

That is all you need to say. They are recording all of the calls regarding this issue.

Alternatively, you can use the following snail mail address:

Governor Gina Raimondo
Office of the Governor
82 Smith Street
Providence, Rhode Island 02903

2) Send your comments in writing to the Secretary of the Transportation Advisory Committee, Michael D’Alessandro. See the link below for a sample letter.

Mail:
Secretary of the Transportation Advisory Committee, Michael D’Alessandro
RI Dept. of Administration, Division of Statewide Planning
One Capitol Hill, Providence, RI 02908

Email: Michael.DAlessandro@doa.ri.gov

There is a sample letter here

All public comment must be received by August 22 at 3:30.

Thank you, again, for your interest and your willingness to speak out!!
