The Rhode Island Bicycle Coalition (RIBike) is a volunteer, non-profit organization formed in 2010 by the merger of the Greenways Alliance of Rhode Island and the Providence Bicycle Coalition. Our goal is to promote and enable bicycling as a healthy, enjoyable, efficient and environmentally friendly mode of transportation in and around the State of Rhode Island. We raise awareness of bicyclists and bicycling issues and act as a voice for bicyclists to elected officials and decision makers in the Providence metropolitan area and in Rhode Island more generally.
While RIBike has advocated for safer streets for both bicycles and pedestrians, including adequate bicycle infrastructure, we have been limited by our volunteer programming. To develop a stronger, more visible program and more effectively represent the biking and transportation community, RIBike is currently seeking a temporary advocacy and development coordinator to strengthen its organizational and financial capacity.
