George Redman Linear Park Update

September 27, 2013 by RI BIke

Community - George Redman Linear Park - October 2013_Page_1_Image_0002We received an update on the George Redman Linear Park from RIDOT today.  Some highlights:

  • They anticipate having the decking, arches, and columns on the Washington Bridge completely demolished by the end of this month.
  • Concrete placement for the new decking is already underway
  • The right lane at Exit 4 (Tauton Ave/Veteran’s Memorial Parkway) on I-195E is open again – Not of as much interest to cyclist, but many of us drive as well.

Next up?  Once the demolition work is complete, RIDOT will continue placing the new bridge decking, starting on the East Providence Side and progressing West.  Additionally, they will be working on the arches and columns West of the river.

If interest, you can read their original report.
