The RI bike community should know that at 9am on Thurs June 20 RIDOT is calling a stakeholder meeting for their project to replace the I-95 Viaduct where it goes over the rr tracks and roads behind Providence Place mall.
This might be of interest as the passage behind the mall under the viaduct, now rather forlorn, connects to Kinsley and Promenade and might relate to how the East Coast Greenway and/or the Woonasquatucket Greenway connect to downtown Providence. Further, the disruption of normal traffic during the costruction might present an opportunity to promote bike. transit, and pedestrian alternatives during that period. Note there was a newspaper column suggesting extending the Waterplace walkways west of I-95.
