New England Bike-Walk Summit! Thursday Oct. 7

The first-ever New England Bike-Walk Summit is almost upon us!  This one-day conference will be at the Marriott Courtyard in downtown Providence on Thursday, October 7.  Agenda is acquired, and registration accomplished, via the website.  Seats are filling up – don’t delay!

The keynoter is Tim Blumenthal, the President of Bikes Belong Coalition, who is flying in from Boulder for the event.  Other notables are Jeff Miller (President, Alliance for Biking and Walking), Dennis Markatos (Executive Director, East Coast Greenway Alliance), and representatives of the League of American Bicyclists, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, and all of the prominent bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organizations from our 6-state region.  Participating government agencies include RIDOT, NHDOT, VTDOT, NPS, and many regional and local agencies.

There will be a total of nine sessions (3 running concurrently at any given time).  Among topics are state-level legislation across New England affecting biking and walking; innovative infrastructure; fostering more cycling and walking; and much more.

Much to learn at the Summit website and facebook group!  Also, volunteers needed!
