I particularly like the part of him changing into regular clothes. Normal guy, normal clothes, otherwise normal life. Kevin Duarte Apr 15, 2010 at 8:37 am I also work at RWU and know of Chris Menton. I work in the IT department and also commute to work by bike. I live in Riverside (a.k.a. East Providence) and have been commuting for over 10 years. This year for Christmas my family bought me some serious winter riding gear, and my oldest daughter has her drivers license, which frees me up (and motivates me) to replace my RIPTA commute by six month out of the year (April – October). This is a great article and video and I hope it inspires other to travel via bike and reduce carbon emissions as well. Nice to do an 18 mile commute on a bikeway. Tougher to do my old 11 miler through the likes of Apponaug and East Greenwich town center, over bridges, hills and through traffic. Used to divert into a 20 miler just to avoid exhaust fumes in Summer. Longest commute was 26 miles each way, but only biked it up to 3 times a week, since 52 miles is about 3 hours, lots of time to devote.
