Bicycle PSA

The Illinois Department of Transporation recently funded a video PSA starring Robbie Ventura.  I think it does a good job covering many important topics, both for motorists and cyclists.  I think it’s well worth ~ 7 minutes of my time, what do you think?

Loved it! Can we have one for Rhode Island?

That's a beautiful thing. It seems too long for a television PSA though. Where is the illinois DOT using it?

Actually, it's being used in Driver's Ed classes throughout the state. It's also available on the website.

Thanks for confirming what I had in mind, this would be a great video to show during bicycle/motoring education classes. I'd love to see our driver's education classes adopt something like this. Also thanks for the pointers to the videos. I did a little more digging and found full quality videos and some mention of instructors being able to use this in their classes. Sounds to me like we could do this, but I'd still love to get a response to one of the email inquiries I sent out, confirming this is the case.

This really is good. I think that the only thing that I teach that Robbie left out here is – for cyclists – the value of looking at brake lights, interior lights and turn signals of parked cars as a potential hint of what they are about to do.
