Can't make the meeting but I would like ther group to know about the House Judiciary Committee meeting at the "rise" on Wed June 10 (usually between 4:30 and 5pm) consideration will be given to H5074substituteA, the "three-foot" bill by Gemma. This is not a "hearing" which was already held April 2. "Consideration" usually means thye plan to pass it.

I'm not sure where the bike community is on this version of the bill which seems to me to have strange language with regard to slowing down when passing a bicyclist, but no matter what it is not to late to contact the sponsor or other judiciary committee members.

By the way, I also read of "complete streets" progress in CT and NY.

The bill, as listed on the House Judiciary website, is not the Sub A that is being considered. Rather it is the original bill that was introduced. Since then, there has been significant work on the bill to bring it more in line with the Oregon Vulnerable Roadway User legislation. I'm trying to get my hands on the working copy of the Sub A, you would think they would post it on the website!
