city planning charrettes, continued…

city planning charrettes, continued…

On Wednesday Nov 12, the city planning department will present a summary of the charrettes held for the Fox Point, College Hill, and Wayland Square neighborhoods.  The meeting will be from 6-8 pm in the dining room of the Lincoln School (where the north end of Butler Ave meets the south end of Blackstone Boulevard).  If you’re interested in learning more about what’s in store for making this part of the city more bike/ped friendly, this is a good meeting to attend.  Results will be posted on

Also, as more of these charrettes and charrette summary sessions are planned, pertinent information will be posted here.

Just to amplify on Eric's announcement about the charette — this is the follow up to last May's public process to establish the community's priorities. A lot of the discussion at that time focused on the uses of the waterfront along India Pt. Park and the Providence River above the hurricane barrier and the Point Street Bridge, including support for a continuous bike path from the Providence River around the bend along the Seekonk and up to Pawtucket.

NOTE: This meeting WILL take place, though it is not listed on the Planning Dept website's calendar. (The website & city govt emails have not been functioning for several days.)
