Paddle and Peddle to Support Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration’s Animal Rescue Efforts

MYSTIC, CT – The Fifth annual Animal Rescue Kayak (ARK) paddle and peddle will be held at Bluff Point State Park, Groton, CT on June 21st from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family!

Registration forms may be downloaded from the Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration website at: or can be picked up either at the Aquarium or the Yellow House Coffee Shop in Stonington Borough.

Registration fee is $25.00 for adults and $10.00 for kids under 13 years of age. The event is organized by Friends of the Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration (FOMA).

All the funds raised benefit the Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Stranding program at Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration. The kayak and cycling event will be held rain or shine.

Kayakers can choose among 4 spectacular courses, while cyclists can pick between 2 beautiful routes. For those who always wanted to kayak but never had the boat or the time, free kayak rentals are available, but you must reserve ahead. New this year is a feature for non-paddlers, a Virtual Kayak option. Come down and check it out!

Prizes will be awarded to those who bring in the most sponsors. Paddlers and peddlers will also receive a long sleeved tee shirt and picnic lunch.

Those who raise over $200.00 will receive an invitation to an exclusive seal watch cruise onboard the Sunbeam Fleet. The trip will be hosted by expert staff from the Aquarium. Virtual participants need not paddle or peddle to reach the $200.00 goal.
