RIDOT Begins Maintenance on East Bay Bike Path

Starting this past Tuesday,  I noticed RIDOT crews out working on replacing the decking along the two wooden bridges near the Barrington/Warren town lines.  Later, I noticed an announcement on the RIDOT website: Cyclists along the path from Providence to Bristol already may have encountered construction work on the path. Henderson Bridge Changes

I received many messages, from a variety of sources, announcing the upcoming changes to the Henderson Bridge traffic patterns.  According to the RIDOT press release, they are heading into the second phase of the Henderson Bridge repairs.  This means cyclists will now need to ride on the Southern sidewalk when heading into Providence and can

Bike Safety Day in Barrington

This Saturday, the Barrington Police Department along with the Bristol County Elks will sponsor a bike safety day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The main focus of the event, which will take place next to Shaw’s Supermarket along the East Bay Bike Path, is bicycle safety, although there will be fun activities for families.
