Need I also mention that they fight deadly, expensive wars over oil? These mini-conflicts costs billions a week of tax payer money; they account for 50% of the federal budget. Busting your hump to pay for what? Just say NO.

They only count collision fatalities among the deaths that motoring causes. Big error. They forget to include the cardiovascular diseases caused by automotive stress and lack of exercise, or cancer and chronic bronocitis caused by petrochemical pollution. Racing around a little faster is no blessing.

They neglect to indicate that millions of jobs being lost means poorer nutrition for families, and rise in crime, particularly murders, due to lack of income in a capitalism paradigm. America already has more people incarcerated than any country on the planet. Big Oil is a big problem.

... and the big question on my mind is, what about the number of fatalities related to automobiles killing pedestrians and cyclists? One things I've learned, when they site traffic deaths, this typically only includes those killed in automobiles as a result of an accident. I would be really interested to see if there was a corresponding decrease in the number of pedestrians/cyclists killed by automobiles.
